George and Erika, and Laura

Erika Klassen

We have a 'BIG GOD' who calls his people to do big things in his name, regardless of where in the world they are situated.

This is powerful as I think of Arvid's undertaking to help street children on the other side of the world, the same street children that Charles Mulli gave up a wealthy lifestyle for a number of years ago to start MCF in Africa.

I am honored to be a crew member for the last leg of SPOKE 2005, to help with this worthwhile undertaking.

God was preparing our hearts to hear and answer his call as Arvid & Ruth spent some time looking for 'the' couple for the last leg. We are excited to see how everything has fallen into place to allow us this once in a lifetime privilege to join the team on the road.

We have been involved in a previous SPOKE venture as part of the prayer chain. Prayer is a vital part of this venture.

You can help with your prayers and contributions to make a difference to a child living in the slums of Africa!

As a self proclaimed recreational "athlete"... I have participated in a variety of sports over the years and have always enjoyed being part of a team with the goal to push each other to higher levels of performance and to accomplish something together, something special.

I believe that being involved as a support team member on this journey, I will be changed forever. I will be witness to the efforts of an amazing athlete pushing himself beyond personal limits and knowing that in some small way I will make a difference in achieving the ultimate goal.

As a Human Resource Professional and Retail Manager over the past 25 years I am excited to utilize the tools of the trade to provide the needed administration and motivation to support and encourage all team members. This will however be my first motor-home driving experience (St. Catherines to Halifax) and so I may be the one seeking support and encouragement!

I wish to have a positive impact on the team, and in turn with your support, help impact nearly 800 orphaned African children on the other side of the globe, not just for right now... but for years to come.

To Arvid and Ruth, the importance of family is clear when taking on a project like this, and in a team member role this family support has to be there as well. I thank our 3 children, Matthew, Lisa and Laura for encouraging us in this venture and for the family support we will receive when traveling.

I am thrilled for this opportunity and look forward to making new friends and meeting many new people. Please give us a wave when we pass through your town!

Hi my name is Laura Klassen. I am 9 years old and attend Donwood Elementary School. I'm so exited to go on this journey and I feel extremely blessed that I can come. I am the youngest of three children in my family.

I can't wait to meet Paul, Mumina and Lydia and hear the stories that they have to tell about their life. My role on the trip will be to keep them company when they're not on the bike, like playing games, reading and watching movies together.

I'm glad that I can support Arvid on his journey from St. Catherines, Ontario to Halifax, Nova Scotia.
