Jodi Loewen

My name is Jodi Loewen and I am the eldest daughter of Arvid and Ruth. I am currently in my third and final year of my BA at Canadian Mennonite University in Winnipeg, Manitoba with plans go into education.

As I have been on numerous of my dad’s previous biking endeavors, I will be involved with the support crew for SPOKE 2005 as well. I plan on being one of the drivers in the support vehicle for the third leg of the journey, between St. Catherine’s, Ontario and Halifax, Nova Scotia. Despite the boredom and monotony that following Dad’s bike over mountain, through valley, across desert and prairie despite wind, rain, heat, and snow can evoke, I have enjoyed participating in rides and races over the years. It has been interesting to see what makes Dad tick and challenging to witness his level of determination and dedication in sports, which he mirrors with respect to family, faith, and profession.

SPOKE 2005: The Canadian Safari has me excited, because it is the perfect combination of everything Dad has always talked about in regards to the integration of faith and sports. He has the opportunity to use one of the gifts God has given him, which is not spiritual in and of itself, to raise awareness and funds to benefit the orphans of Mully Children’s Family in Kenya. I am thrilled to be able to be a part of this undertaking.
