Elijah is an orphan whose parents died when he was very young. He comes from a very poor family. His father died first, leaving his poor wife to struggle to take care of the children. She sold local illicit brew in order to buy food but this was not enough to support her family. Things became worse after thugs attacked the family. Elijah was seriously wounded and sustained deep cuts to his head. His mother sustained injuries so she couldn't do any work at all. She died in 1998 after an illness caused by the attack. The children, being orphaned and poor were unable to support themselves. Their only distant relative was totally irresponsible, a drunkard engaged in the brewing of illicit alcohol and too poor to care for her own children.

Elijah was rescued by Mully Children's Family and started accessing all basic needs. He had never attended school before rehabilitation but is now currently in grade six. He plays junior soccer, loves singing, and is a member of the choir.
