Harriet was born in 1989 by a single mother who was abondoned by her husband. Harriet became destitute and desperate when her mother abandoned her in the streets of Eldoret at a very tender age. She was left without a home or a parent. Her mother is believed to be living in Baringo town, still unemployed.

In order to survive, Harriot would steal food and other items. Harriet was charged with the offense of theft and was convicted into children's prison in 1998. She was rescued from prison in 1999 by Mully Children's Family (MCF). She was in a pathetic condition, however MCF gave her proper care and protection.

She was enrolled in nursery school and other basic needs were provided. Harriet had never attended school before, due to lack of money for school fees and the movement from town to town with her mother. She is currently in grade 5 at MCF Ndalani primary school.

She likes playing ball games. She is also a choir member and enjoys reciting poems and memory verses in Sunday School.
