![]() | David was born in Eldoret town being the eighth child born in a family of 12. They lived more like rivals rather than brothers and sisters with no one to call father. His single mother cohabited with different men and also brewed and sold illegal alcohol. She never had a husband and all of her children had different, unknown fathers. Most of them became accustomed to the street life due to lack of resources in the family. David lost touch with his mother in 1994. Most of his older brothers took to the streets at a very tender age. Some of his siblings also died due to neglect. David followed his brothers to the street where he was subjected to a lot of suffering from the effect of drugs, imprisonment, public ridicule and mob justice. David had managed to attend school on and off until grade 4, but had dropped out at the time of his rescue in 1991. He was brought to Mully Children's Family Homes and enrolled in grade 5. He is currently a third year student at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa pursuing a degree in Journalism and Business Management. |
